The Central School Of Speech And Drama
The Central School of Speech and Drama has been in the business longer than any university drama department. It was founded in 1906 to offer an entirely new form of training in drama and speech for young actors and other students.
Over the past century, the Central School has nurtured a progression of great actors, including Laurence Olivier, Peggy Ashcroft, Vanessa Redgrave, Judi Dench, Julie Christie, Harold Pinter, Cameron Mackintosh and Graham Norton, amongst hundreds of others.
Whilst the Central School continues to train the brightest and the best for the acting profession, its remit covers almost every aspect of theatre training, including training those who want to teach drama, theatre studies, media and film studies
